GDC company launch and Founders Networking Event. (Mzuzu Chapter)
On August 26, 2022, we launched Founders Network Malawi (Mzuzu Chapter), Growth Development Consultancy, and its subsidiary companies at the Sunbird Mzuzu hotel in Malawi.
During the event, Covenant Kingdom Organisation, Chiku, Agroacres, Namilazi the florist, Zomera Fruit Propagation Farm, MZUZU DAIRY Limited, Namie’s Pine Gel, Njadada Investments, Thomson Consult Limited, Rilo Investments, Little Eagles, Open Heavens Ministry, and Medima Consultancy presented and showcased their products during the event. Products on exhibition by entrepreneurs included compost manure, crafts, flowers, seed (other crops), pots, and services being offered by startups in Mzuzu was made.
One of the initiatives of the event was to provide a solution for the increased prices of fertilizer. The network, therefore, encouraged member companies who are in agribusiness to provide alternatives so that high yields are maintained at affordable costs. Lumbani Sichinga of Covenant Kingdom Organization made a presentation on manure making to increase the technical capacity of members in compost manure making.
The Guest of Honor for the event was Mrs. E Mphewa (Deputy Director of Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources) and funds were provided by DISCOM communication headed by Doreen Kayoyo (Managing Director for Discom Communications Ltd and Senior Business and International Education Consultant). Litness Chaima (Director of Partnerships, Mzuzu E-Hub) represented M Hub and was with three entrepreneurs working with Mzuzu E-Hub.
23 (11M,10F) entrepreneurs and 4 (2M, 2F) media personnel attended the event. In general, the event was a success and was featured on the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation 8 o’clock news hour. To date, more than 20 members have registered with the Founders Network Malawi.
